The eduroam WLAN network enables wireless access to the University of Cologne network. The eduroam WLAN can also be used at many other universities with a University of Cologne account.

Information for eduroam users at other universities
If you belong to a university or research institution that also participates in eduroam, you can also use the eduroam network here with your account. Please follow the instructions of your home institution when configuring your devices. The instructions below are only suitable for users of the University of Cologne.

WLAN access for guests with eduroam
With eduroam, guests can use their own university account to log in to the wireless networks of all other institutions participating in eduroam. Please note: The configuration settings vary from institution to institution!
Please check the website of your home institution for the necessary settings for your eduroam access. If you still have problems setting up the eduroam wireless network, the RRZK-Helpdesk will be happy to assist you.
University employees can also apply for wireless access for their guests. For more information, please refer to our Account pages.
Wi-Fi access for conference guests at the university
If you are attending a conference and do not have eduroam access from your own institution, you will be provided with an Account for the duration of the conference.
Log in to the “Conference@University of Cologne” Wi-Fi network using the account details you receive at your conference.
Wi-Fi access for guests at the university (not for conferences)
You can set up up to two Wi-Fi accounts for your guests at the institute or facility yourself, quickly and easily. This account allows your guests to use the “Conference@University of Cologne” network.
With the appropriate configuration profile, they can also use the eduroam network at the institute.

Requirements for using the service
- Please be sure to read the safety instructions before using the Wi-Fi. The use of virus-infected computers may result in your account being blocked by the RRZK in order to protect other users.
- You must be within range of a wireless station (access point).
- The device must be configured to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
