Mailing lists at the RRZK
As a member of the University of Cologne you can subscribe to various mailing lists. You can equate a mailing list with an e-mail distribution list. If you send an e-mail to a list, all members of your list will automatically receive it.
The ITCC operates a central mailing list server. The ITCC gives you the opportunity to set up mailing lists there.
The list addresses always end with @uni-koeln.de. We do not support endings other than @uni-koeln.de. For endings such as @musterinstitut.uni-koeln.de, it is necessary that you contact the administration for @musterinstitut.uni-koeln.de.
All members of the university with a staff or student account can apply for a mailing list. The prerequisite is that the topic of the mailing list is related to the university, its facilities, research or teaching.
Important: From the ITCC's point of view, mailing lists "belong" to the persons registered as admins, even if the name of the list refers to an institution. If a list is "orphaned", i.e. there is no longer a valid admin address, we reserve the right to delete the list without further inquiry, especially if it has not been used for a long time. If the admin role is to be transferred to another person, the consent of a previous admin is usually required. In cases of dispute, the HR department or the legal department must decide.
